Hershey

Age: 5 Years Old / Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy
”Hershey is a handsome 5 year old chocolate Lab mix! Weighing in around 60 pounds, he is on a weight loss journey to get down to healthy weight which should be around 55 pounds. Hershey loves the other dogs in his foster home, both bigger and smaller than him. He will run and zoom with the dogs, then be ready to curl up by your feet for a nap. He has a medium energy level, enjoying going for walks at the park, but also ready for a lazy day at home. Hershey is also quick to make friends with the cats in his foster home. Hershey is both crate and potty trained, but likely would do well outside of a crate when his foster family is away from the home.Hershey lacks confidence and is hesitant of new people - he does best with slow introductions and would prefer a forever home with limited visitors, or a family willing to crate him when company is over. Once adjusted to his people, he's a very loving and loyal boy! Due to his nervousness of new people, he would do best in a home with older children who understand how to respect his space as he acclimates. Hershey takes more time to warm up to men than women, so any men in his life should be prepared to take the time to build up trust with him as he gets to know them.Hershey's adoption fee is $250.”

Alexis

Age: 3 Months Old / Breed: Beagle / Terrier / Sex: Female / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy
”Alexis is the smallest of the Schitt's Creek gals, but don't let her 6 pounds fool you. This 3 month old beagle/terrier female is vocal and feisty. She can be found bossing her siblings around most days, waiting for belly rubs from her foster mom. Alexis loves squeaky toys, being held like a baby, and is the social butterfly of the crew. She can be a bit of a diva, but that is what makes her so lovable. She follows her big foster sibling dog around and has no fear when it comes to playing with him. Alexis is working on her use of puppy pads and due to her small nature, tends to need to use the bathroom a bit more often. Alexis will be a great addition for any home who is looking for a spunky gal with a lot of love to give. Alexis' adoption fee is $400.”

River

Age: 8 Months Old / Breed: Great Dane / Sex: Female / Rescue: SAAP
”Meet River a purebred Great Dane. River is a beautiful gal looking for her furever. She met a resident SAAP alum and did great. River road quietly in the car. She met several staff members at our vet and immediately welcomed pets from them. River also knew to potty outside. She went into the crate fine and is resting after her long day of travel and vetting. River is seventy pounds now but definitely needs weight and will probably grow more! Sweetie

Age: 2 Years Old / Breed: Terrier Pug Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy
”Sweetie came into rescue from a hoarding situation where several dogs were left in a house by themselves. Her skin is still healing from the previous flea infestation. As her name implies this little girl is a Sweetie! She is very timid and fearful but wants to trust humans. Given a little time she wants love and pets. Her curly tail makes it seem like she is mixed with a pug, but she also resembles a terrier. She is an 18lb, 2 year old girl. She needs someone willing to give her the love and encouragement to flourish. She is potty pad trained but has no experience walking on a leash. Sweetie's adoption fee is $400.”

Maxwell Brown

Age: 4 Years Old / Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy
”Maxwell is a 4 year old lab mix, around 35 lbs. He is a shy and sweet little guy. He loves to go on walks and is great on a leash. He does not pay attention to dogs barking at him or strangers walking past, he is just happy to be there. He will need to go on at least one walk a day (preferably in the morning when he is at his highest energy), but would prefer an active owner who doesn't mind multiple walks per day! Buddy has never shown signs of aggression towards anything, he is easy to bathe, feed and goes into his crate quite easily. He likes to be around people as much as possible but he will happily sleep in his crate or on the ground as long as he can see his person. Maxwell has never tried to chew on anything and has had no accidents in the house. He has been a delight to have around. Maxwell's adoption fee is $250.”

”Moira Rose is a curious and independent 3 month beagle/terrier., weighing in at 8 pounds. The more mature lady of Schitt's Creek, she loves hanging around her foster mama and playing with her older foster siblings. She's a quiet girl with a gentle disposition, smart and loving, with a liking for the television. She would be most happy with a place to play outside, as she loves romping in the grass. We are practicing our crate staying and house training, Moira Rose is good with puppy pads. She's already surprised her foster mom with starting to learn to use the bells to go outside just from watching her foster siblings use them. She'll make an excellent best gal pal. Moira Rose's adoption fee is $400.”

Rebel

Age: 1 Year Old / Breed: Australian Shepherd Jack Russell Terrier Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy
”Hello - my name is Rebel!! My foster mom tells everyone that I am a puppy trapped in a 35 pound body, but really, I'm a year old and already as big as I'm going to get! I think she thinks I'm still a puppy because I don't have very many "manners." I don't know what that means, but all I know is that I'm excited about EVERYTHING! People, dogs, cats, you name it - I'll try to make them my friend! Sometimes my foster mom thinks I'm "a bit much" for some, so I would probably do best in a home without small children as I still need to learn to not jump on people and to stop my puppy nips. I am very smart and willing to learn, I just need someone with the time and the energy to help me learn to use my brains for good! If you're looking for a runny buddy, or a high energy friend to call your own, look no further - I'm your girl! Apply today! My adoption fee is $250”

Hester

Age: 1 Year Old / Breed: Mini Australian Shepherd / Sex: Female / Rescue: SAAP
”Meet Hester a sweet mini Aussie at a little under twenty pounds. Hester came to SAAP with her three other sisters. Hester seems to be the most outgoing of the sisters however she is a little shy and nervous at first. Hester immediately explored her foster home then took a nap on foster moms lap. Hester will need a patient adopter to work with her shyness. A confident dog friend would be great, so far she has meet a medium and large size pup. Since we consider Hester a bit of a flight risk due to her shy behaviors she would need a physical fence with a tie out to start and someone would need to be outside with her. Hester is super sweet and glad to be a SAAP pup now.”

Izzy

Age: 2 Years Old / Breed: Hound Labrador Retriever Mix / Sex: Female / Rescue: SAAP
”Izzy is a 2 year old lab/hound mix and is a sweet as can be. She loves to be around her people whether that means laying next to you on the couch or following you around the yard. She's pretty good on a leash when walking but can smell a chipmunk or squirrel and her hound instincts kick in and she Pulls and tries to find it so she'll need a little leash training. When I've had her outside she is pretty good at staying by me and did fine on a long leash in the yard so I don't think a physical fence is necessary. She is doing great crate training and is housebroken (we only had one pee accident right after her spay). She would be fine to roam free and doesn't need to be in a crate. She is learning how to play with toys and likes her tennis ball the most so far!”

Kent

Age: 12 Years Old / Breed: Chihuahua / Sex: Male / Rescue: SAAP
”Kent's owner passed away and he wound up in a shelter scared and confused. He was so afraid when he first arrived in his foster home that he would shake like a leaf anytime anyone talked to or even looked at him. He's a brave boy and has come a long way in only 2 months. He is now his foster mom's shadow and he's even starting to play a little. Kent is a little guy weighing just 12 pounds. This sweet boy is very ready to start his new life with his forever family. He needs a patient adopter who will give him the time he needs to feel safe. If you have a big heart for rescue and you want to give this boy a second chance then he would love to meet you.”
